…and it feels so good…… (OK – sorry – I really can’t stand that song)
While in Milwaukee we managed to visit with some very good friends of ours. It was super quick – most of our meet-ups were scheduled the day before or day of. We were shameless…. often giving little more than a few hours notice….but our friends are amazing and indulged us. We hope to always give more notice in the future….and our friends will be laughing as they read that sentence knowing full well our spontaneous tendencies.
Thank you, dear friends, for catering to us and making us feel amazingly loved. Whether we literally just saw your faces or managed to get in a half-uttered, half-listened to conversation over the roar of children laughing, it was marvelous to reconnect. Seattle feels like home – this trip hugely helped us to realize how settled we are here (having a new baby will do that to you) – but Milwaukee will always hold a special place for us because of all its amazing people.
Thank you for sharing our adoption adventure. Thank you for the listening ears and cups of tea and support when we least expected it. Thank you for reinforcing our family – for reminding us we are loved just as we are, whether or not we are living up to our own expectations. It was a joy to share our newest addition with you and to see our oldest squeal with joy at seeing your children. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
