We knew we were taking a risk scheduling a visit to Wisconsin in the winter. We’d already pushed our trip back from January to February…..but given the weather this year…… Turns out we really lucked out. It was surprisingly warm for our visit, completely with a full-on snowfall. While I’m thrilled I didn’t experience a winter like that, it was fun to jog Evelyn’s memory a bit about what snow is really like.
It was wonderful to see those we caught up with. It was equally frustrating to only have 24 hours in a day to do so, and to those we missed, we’ll try again next time. Thanks to all who hosted us – fed us – played with our children – let us borrow snow apparel – and made us feel loved. While it’s no longer our actual home, we’ll always have a special little place in our hearts for Milwaukee.
At the gate, watching the sunrise. 😕

Know one of the reason I married my husband? He understands the value of a well-timed cookie break.
And – all too quickly – homeward bound. The kids did great – full of well-managed energy….
