Torchlight Parade

We had a really wonderful July with both sets of Grandparents visiting.  I can’t explain how helpful it was to have the extra hands around.  While I’m still getting used to having company that helps with cooking and cleaning, just having someone to distract the children is amazing.

In late July, Seattle held its annual Torchlight Parade.  It’s part of the Seafair festivities.  We’d been a few years ago, but had to duck out early because we’d only flown in that afternoon and were exhausted.  This year we met up with family and friends to enjoy the entire parade.  The girls had a great time….except for the arrival of the Pirates at the end….whose booming cannons on their float was more than my overtired girls could handle.  Still.  Other than the pirates, they had a great time….Evelyn particularly loved all the Queens on the court floats, Claire got her boogie on to the marching bands, and both loved to see the floats light up as the night went on.
