I’ve finally gotten through all the holiday pictures. All. The. Pictures. You guys – I have a problem. Andrew was laughing at me the other day – I am amazing at decluttering our home and minimizing the *stuff* we hold on to…..but digitally…..i’m a total hoarder. Eep.
I’m not going to post every photo. Don’t worry. Just highlights….of which there are still many….
This year the holidays were exhausting, but not in the expected, “kids aren’t sleeping or eating or behaving and I’m out of patience” way. I was so emotional this year. More so than usual (which is saying something). We are so thankful to have such loving, thoughtful people in our lives, caring not only for our daughters, but for us, too. It was exhausting…but good….in that we got to see so many people. We should do that again sometime.
Had some lovely walking-weather in December. Claire liked to sweep the sidewalks with the trimmings of people’s trees.
She and I also had a great time making some presents.
This is in addition to her cast. She started the month off by breaking her arm. Another story for another day.
Trimming the tree 🙂
The night before St Nick came, Evelyn tucked Claire in….to Frankie’s bed.
She didn’t mind.
I got a chance to do some caroling with the Symphony Chorale
The family came to support me and got to spend some time with Santa, too!
Claire wasn’t convinced!
That night we had the PERFECT evening for friends, glog, and the Christmas Ships.
We capped it off with an insane light display and dinner out.
These two giggly goofy girls made me laugh till I cried!
Claire decided around this time that she was completely over high chairs. We’re still trying to convince her they’re cool.
John & Ginny came to visit during Evelyn’s last week of school. It was a performance week for me with Chorale, so I wasn’t around much, but the girls had a great visit!
She breakfasts at Tiffanys.
Evelyn was SO excited to play Mary at the church pageant.
(There were THREE Mary’s)
It was awesome.
After my last concert, we had a gift opening with some of Andrew’s family.
Claire learned to smile for the camera 🙂 She’s already stopped doing it, so these are quite precious!
We didn’t bake cookies this year….we attempted homemade marshmallows. We had TOO MANY cookies already. 😉
They had a great time cutting them out on Day 2, but Evelyn refused to put on pants….so this is the only photo suitable for sharing.
We had quite a few great play dates…not all pictured, of course.
There was also some excellent down time, too. This girl is very studious when it comes to her letters!
By the week before Christmas, Claire was completely captivated by Santa. “Hanta”
Right after Christmas we went out for our annual trip to Snowflake Lane. The parade itself was a bust, but Andrew saved the day with a visit to a HUGE tree near his office. *whew*
We stayed at a hotel near the airport for a night before flying to StL. The girls’ favorite part?! The shower.
Evelyn FINALLY got to meet her newest cousin, Mia. She was SO happy.
On our way home – a quick trip through Santa’s Magical Kingdom. Magical, indeed.
While I didn’t get to catch up with many friends this trip, the few I saw weren’t FOREVER captured on camera. Lucky you guys. 🙂 This is the ONLY pic I caught from those three outings. Good thing I have an actual memory 🙂
So wonderful to catch up with Grandma Great!
Met up with more cousins for a hotel party. I believe there are pictures of me in the pool somewhere…..hopefully they never surface.
Evelyn decided to teach Ethan some bedtime yoga poses.
Claire was past ready for bed. Can you tell?
The kids ATE! And SLEPT! We had to break a few rules to keep them full and rested at times….but what else are rules for?!
We got a great visit in with two of my Great Aunts, too.
That was an extra special treat!
Perhaps not the best photo of all of us….but perhaps the most fun 🙂
Claire showed Mia what’s up…..
These guys. Wish I didn’t look as tired as I felt….but them’s the breaks, sometimes.
We left the kiddos with my parents for a night away to celebrate 10 YEARS of marriage.
Still my best friend.
A Mizzou Game…..a trip to Forest Park….and some skating at Steinbergs hit the spot.
I had forgotten how much I love the Magic House.
Careening through the airport on our way home. This little one is just as good a traveler as her sister these days.
One more gift opening with Tim & Deary.
OK guys. Enough already. We’re pooped. 🙂
